Caste of Scribes

Caste Code, Rules & Regulations

Ruling precedes the HoC, aHoC, HS then the council sitting officials and the high ranking members of the caste. The high ranking scribes are considered leaders of their respective subcaste and school of knowledge. Each leader is required to report to the HoC, aHoC, and HS. Leaders are responsible for the development, growth and employment of their subcastes. The AHoC and HS will be assuming roles and positions when needed until these are filled out. 

Please see the HoC for open roles, available duties and positions. There are all sorts of scribes in the City of Tarnwald who assist citizens, residents and visitors with documentation, sealing, legalization and officiation. For example but not limited to protection contracts, ward contracts, companionship contracts, dissolutions, adoptions, birth certificates, death certificates, manumissions, mercenary contracts, slave papers, citizenship, caste change, last will and testaments, and in matters of law. 

SCRIBE HALL ➺ The Caste is housed in the Cylinder, the Library, and multiple offices across the City of Tarnwald. 

SCRIBE OFFICES ➺ Provided for all roles, positions and subcaste all through the second and third floor of the Cylinder.

 

ARCHIVES, HALL OF RECORDS ➺ Where recordkeepers file final law binding versions of documents. Please fill out a Document Request Form to receive copies of official documents and drop it on the mailbox for the Record Keeper.

CASTE MEMBERSHIP ➺ To join the the Caste see the HoC, aHoC or HS to schedule an interview or same day meeting. Please be sure to fill out a Caste Registration Form, a scribe skill set, and register your seals as well as let us know if you are going to be a private scribe, retired or visiting scribe. 

Grounds of Expulsion: permanent collar, verdict of guilt, Home Stone treason, slander and extortion of a fellow scribe.

Caste Work: Scribes are permitted to charge a fee, quota, or accept tips for their performance. Keep your pricing lists reasonable. Be accommodating to the station and economic status of your clients as much as possible. 

Scribe Code

There are three core values of a scribe: Integrity, Objectivity and Duty. All other values spring from these three core values. If you are familiar with these concepts or are eager to learn then you are one of us. Responsibility, helpfulness, resourcefulness, creativity and competition. 􀀉

Salary: Coin will be dispensed once a week to each scribe according to their standing in the caste. For example, a magistrate will be paid for being a magistrate, record keeper for being a record keeper, ambassador for ambassador. 

Vacancies: There may be multiple scribes sharing one office or official position. Vacant roles are always available in the caste and for the city. Please inquire. 

COURT ➺ The Court is located in the first floor of the Cylinder.

BLANK FORMS & PRICES ➺ Available  on the second floor of the Cylinder, and behind every desk provided to the scribes. Ask the HoC, aHoC or HS if you need any other scrolls to work with. 􀀂

RECORD KEEPING ➺ Copies of all documents, warrants, reports and orders must be deposited on the Dropbox outside of the Cylinder for filing. There are also mailboxes relative to caste and city positions.

SLAVE REGISTRATIONS ➺ Office located next to the Infirmary. Please drop all Slave Registration documents on the mailbox outside to be filed.

LIBRARY ➺ Located in the upper city and opened to free and slaves for teaching and studying. Collections of the finest books and scrolls, newspapers and the latest stories from other cities. Please see a Librarian or the High Librarian for more information about the Library.

TRAINING ➺ Scribes are welcomed to mentor apprentices and help each other advance. Certifications and diplomats are not required to become a Scribe of Tarnwald. What matters is your knowledge and experience as well as your commitment and honesty. If you bring certifications that is wonderful and we will celebrate your accomplishments with you.

MEETINGS ➺ Offered weekly in the Library for all those who attend. Minutes will be posted for the caste. Members are encouraged to speak up and provide important information about their position's development. Leaders are expected to report any progress or issues needing resolution. These matters are voted upon during these events. 

SLAVES ➺ Slaves may assist their scribe owners in the Offices, Court and Library yet no slave may touch criminal or judicial seal documents. Scribe slaves are not recognized. Slaves may assist in cleaning all of the offices and are permitted to serve and assist their scribe owners in these locations.
